About The Book

NO OPTIONS

NO OPTIONS” is a book that in the end inspires, but also relentlessly confronts readers as they join Latusek on an unconventional journey of self-discovery. He questioned the
preconceived notion that we should all just accept the fact that we become less capable as we age. He then set out on a solo mission into the unknown to prove to himself, and anyone that doubted him, that “limitations” are, in fact, a figment of our imaginations. He exposed the hypocrisy of  his desire to seek comfort by finally opening his mind to the truth. A truth that had been silenced for upwards of two decades. A truth,  that once acknowledged, proved to quickly reverse the effects of lethargy and self-doubt. Through trial and error, he discovered that the key to defeating his health crisis had less to do with traditional workouts and dieting and everything to do with administering daily doses of tough love upon himself. By challenging himself to push far beyond what he thought

were his limits, he began to change in ways that quickly became apparent, not only to him, but to anybody that hadn’t interacted with him in some time. As the year progressed, and the intensity of his sessions increased, the speed in which his physical transformation took place quickened, but to his astonishment, that was only the beginning. It was his mindset that truly made all the difference, not only in his capabilities, but in every aspect of his life. Transforming his body was the byproduct of something that he is still only beginning to understand and now knows that perseverance is a nonnegotiable when striving for lasting change.
What began as a self-journal for his own reference, became a book to be shared with all of us. A roadmap that proves that we do not need to “go silently into the good night” but rather fight to continuously improve regardless of age. Latusek has forged the path, and he now beckons us to follow his lead. He asks us to refuse to settle for mediocrity and the desire to just hold on, but instead, reverse the clock on father time, and flourish. He seems to be exhorting us all to realize our untapped potential, embrace the fact that we do have much more to give, and use his example as motivation to strive to achieve all that we are capable of becoming.

Liezel has been his partner throughout the journey and

remains his most supportive ally as he continues down the path of self-discovery. They have been married for 13 years and reside in Mandeville, Louisiana.

Dean found stability and a true calling by accepting a role with Abbott Laboratories in his early thirties and has ascended through the ranks in the Pharmaceutical industry ever since. He finds fulfillment and purpose in the fact that his efforts help to extend, and in many cases, save the lives of the patients he serves.  In late 2022, his knowledge of comorbid conditions such as diabetes and coronary artery disease proved to be invaluable, as he made the realization that he was in imminent danger and in need of substantial lifestyle modifications. Timing is everything, and he felt as though it was his last chance to fix all that he had brought upon himself. His ability to eliminate his old habits and relentlessly challenge himself have helped to transform not only his health, but by extension all aspects of his life.
He now sees it as his responsibility to share his experiences and to inspire others to ignore self-doubt and embrace their true destiny. He has proven that through discipline, anything is possible.  His story confronts conventional wisdom and disregards popular opinion on ageing and the need to hit the brakes regarding the frequency and intensity of sessions. In his words : “When there is no option to surrender, there is no chance of regression.”
